Upon some research of the photo, some of the soldiers in this photos are marked KIA and wounded in action with purples hearts, and bronze stars awarded to many for their actions against the Japanese. You will also receive the WWII era hat worn by Cpl. Johnson who is also featured in this photograph as well. He listing you will see 3 reference photos of these members taken while in the Pacific Theater. These are taken in combat with many of the men featured in this signed photo in them as well. I have more than 15 of these in digital archive. Unit History: Established December 19, 1941, at Camp San Luis Obispo, CA, from personnel of the 143rd Field Artillery, California National Guard. Arrived Guadalcanal on Feb. 5, 1944, New Britain on May 3, 1944 and the Philippines on Jan. Unit was attached to the 1st Cavalry, 24th, 43rd & 44th Infantry Divs. 13, 1946, at Camp Anza, CA. Combat Equipment: M5 3 towed gun, 10/44 – M10. 15, 1943 to Nov. 31, 1944 to Jun. 27, to July 4, 1945.
